About the author
Arun Kundnani is a leading commentator on
racism, immigration and multiculturalism in Britain and the former
editor of Race & Class, a journal on
racism, empire and globalisation, published by the Institute of
Race Relations, London. His previous work includes HomeBeats: Struggles for Racial Justice, which won the
British Interactive Multimedia Association’s award for
best educational CDROM.
The author is well-known for his writings
on the disturbances in Oldham, Burnley and Bradford in 2001 and
their aftermath. He has previously worked as the press officer
for the National Civil Rights Movement, following the
publication of the Macpherson report in 1999. He has also been
active in the Campaign Against Racism and Fascism since 1993
and appears regularly at public meetings and in the media.
